Motorquip supplies and fits reversing cameras for cars, vans, motorhomes and commercial vehicles at our Newton Abbot workshop. Options include integration with a compatible original stereo, an aftermarket head unit or a separate monitor.
Compatibility depends on the vehicle, stereo and camera system, so we’ll check the details before recommending a package. Send your registration and a photo of your existing stereo for advice and a fitting quote.
Types of cameras

Universal camera
Universal cameras can be fitted in a range of positions, subject to the vehicle layout. Push-fit cameras sit in a drilled opening, while bracket-mounted cameras allow more adjustment. We’ll recommend a suitable mounting position and viewing angle.

OEM brake-light camera
Brake-light cameras replace a suitable high-level brake-light unit, usually on a van. Their raised position gives a view of the area behind the vehicle. Availability and the view of the rear bumper depend on the model and installation.

4-pin cameras
Robust four-pin camera systems are a useful option for many commercial vehicles, motorhomes and 4x4s. A single cable connection helps keep the installation tidy. We’ll advise on image quality, low-light performance and compatibility with the chosen monitor.

Number-plate-light cameras
These cameras replace a compatible number-plate-light fitting while retaining the light. They offer a discreet installation on supported vehicles. The mounting angle is usually fixed, so we’ll check whether the resulting view suits your needs.
Types of displays

Aftermarket stereo
A compatible aftermarket stereo can display the reversing camera image on its screen. Camera inputs and supported video formats vary between head units. We’ll check your stereo and the proposed camera together before confirming compatibility.

Mirror monitor
A mirror monitor places the camera image near your usual rear-view mirror position. Options include replacement mirrors with an integrated screen and clip-over monitor units. The available features and fit depend on the vehicle and chosen model.

Universal monitor
A separate monitor can provide a camera display without replacing your stereo. We can discuss a suitable dashboard mounting position and whether the screen should activate in reverse or provide a driving view, depending on the system.

OEM stereo integration
Where a compatible interface is available, we can add a reversing camera to your vehicle’s original screen. This keeps the dashboard appearance familiar. Compatibility depends on the vehicle model, year and factory entertainment system; send us your registration and a photo of the stereo so we can check.
Types of mirror monitors

Replacement mirror
A replacement mirror with an integrated screen combines a normal mirror view with a camera display. Fitment depends on the mirror mount and any existing sensors or electronics. We’ll check the available options for your vehicle.

Clip-over mirror monitor
A clip-over monitor attaches over the existing rear-view mirror and can offer a larger camera display. Some models support more than one camera. Mirror functionality, audio and camera inputs vary by model, so we’ll explain the features of the system quoted for your vehicle.
