Information you give us
Our enquiry form asks for your name, vehicle registration, email address, subject and message. We also keep information you provide when discussing a quote, booking, installation or aftercare. Please only include details relevant to your enquiry, and do not send payment-card details through this form.
How and why we use it
- Enquiries, quotes and bookings: to understand your requirements and take steps you request before a contract, or carry out an agreed service.
- Support and business administration: our legitimate interests in answering questions, keeping useful records and resolving problems.
- Security: our legitimate interests in protecting the website and preventing spam or misuse. Hosting and form services may process technical information such as your IP address and browser details for these purposes.
- Legal obligations: where records must be kept or information provided by law.
- Optional analytics and advertising measurement: with your permission, to understand page visits, enquiries and contact-link clicks and measure the effectiveness of our adverts using Wix, Google Analytics, Google Ads and Meta. Our custom event code does not send enquiry text, names, registrations or email addresses to these platforms.
- Optional Instagram feed: your choice to allow embedded third-party content, which you can change in Cookie preferences.
Sending an enquiry does not sign you up to a marketing mailing list.
Who helps us process it
Wix provides our website and enquiry-form services. Enquiries are stored in Wix and delivered to the Motorquip team’s email accounts. Our email providers include Google and Microsoft. We use these services to receive and respond to your enquiry; we do not publish your form responses on the website.
If you enable the Instagram feed, Curator displays Motorquip’s public Instagram posts. Your browser then connects to Curator and may connect to Instagram/Meta or their content providers, sharing technical connection information. The rest of our website and enquiry form work without this optional feed.
These providers may handle information outside the UK. Their privacy information explains their locations and applicable transfer safeguards: Wix, Google, Microsoft and Curator.
Analytics and advertising choices
Optional analytics and advertising are controlled separately from the Instagram feed. You can reject them or change your choices in Cookie preferences. These services may process technical identifiers, browser information, page addresses, referral information and interactions such as a successful enquiry or a telephone-link click. A click is not confirmation that a call or email took place.
Google and Meta may combine permitted activity with information they hold under their own privacy notices. Read Google’s privacy information and Meta’s privacy policy.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and service information for as long as it is needed to respond, carry out the work, provide relevant aftercare and meet record-keeping obligations. The period depends on whether an enquiry leads to work, the support needed and any legal or dispute requirements. Records should be reviewed when those purposes no longer apply. Contact us if you would like us to review information held about you.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, request deletion, restrict or object to its use, or receive a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent; this does not change processing already carried out. We may need to verify your identity before handling a request.
