Fogstar Battery Range Overview

All batteries in this range use high-quality LiFePO₄ chemistry, matched cells, and robust BMS systems. However, each tier is tailored to a different application and budget-level. Below is how they compare.

Fogstar Drift ECO

This is the entry-level lithium leisure battery solution from Fogstar ideal for customers building a simpler camper electrical system who still want the benefits of lithium (lightweight, higher usable capacity, long cycle life) but at a more accessible price.
Key points:

• Available in a range of capacities from ~100Ah up to 628Ah.

• Basic feature-set: no built-in heating, no active Bluetooth monitoring, but still premium LiFePO₄ cells and a reliable BMS. 

• Warranty typically 6 years. 
  Best for: Smaller vans, weekend use, fewer high-power appliances, customers on a tighter budget.

 

Fogstar Drift

This is the mid-tier solution a step up from ECO, offering more features and flexibility for more demanding camper builds.
Key points:

• Wider capacity range (105Ah-628Ah) and designed for more diverse use.

• Features like Bluetooth monitoring, heating functionality, IP67 rating, stronger BMS (250A on larger models) to support higher discharge inverters. ​

• Warranty around 10 years, reflecting its enhanced build quality. 
  Best for: Regular motorhome or camper-van users, longer trips, customers who want smart monitoring, moderate off-grid capability but don’t need “expedition” level specs.

 

Fogstar Drift PRO

This is the premium tier for serious off-grid systems, high-demand loads, integration with professional systems (e.g., inverter heavy builds), and future-proofing.
Key points:

• Built with advanced features such as Victron compatibility (RS485/CAN), active balancing, metal case, large BMS (300A) for high discharge demands. 

• Capacities from 230Ah up to 628Ah (and even 24 V versions available).

• 10-year warranty, designed for higher spec builds and integration with brands like Victron and high-power inverters. 
  Best for: Full off-grid motorhomes, builds with large inverter/charger systems, installation where load demands are high (multiple 240V appliances, heater, large lighting and pump systems), future-proofing for upgrades.

 

How to Choose Which Level

• Assess your usage: Are you doing weekend trips with modest power use (lights, fridge, small pump)? Then ECO may suffice.

• Consider your future needs: Will you upgrade to a large inverter, use 240V appliances, add solar? Then Drift or PRO are more appropriate.

• Budget vs performance trade-off: ECO keeps cost down; PRO invests in long-term flexibility and heavy use.

• Integration and monitoring: If you want smart monitoring, Victron integration, or higher power capacity go for Drift or PRO.

• Vehicle space and weight: Newer lithium models save space/weight compared with old lead-acid banks but high-capacity PRO models will still require good cabling, fuse protection and suitable installation.

Our Recommendation at Motorquip

• ECO for simple vans or lighter electrics.

• Drift for most camper van builds with moderate power needs (solar, inverter, heater).

• PRO when we are installing high-capacity systems (e.g., multi-kW inverters, heavy loads, off-grid for longer duration).​
