If your vehicle already has a factory-fitted Thatcham Cat 2 immobiliser, such as many Land Rovers, vans, and motorhomes do, you don’t need to add a new immobiliser. Instead, a Cat 2>1 upgrade alarm adds the missing alarm components—interior sensors, siren, etc.—to elevate your system to full Cat 1 status.

This is especially useful for insurance purposes or for vehicles that are commonly targeted by thieves.

🛠️ Optional Central Locking Integration

For classic vehicles that do not already have central locking, we can supply and install high-quality motor kits and link them to the Sigma S30. This allows the alarm fob to operate the vehicle’s locking system remotely.

However, due to the complexity and variation of classic door mechanisms, we cannot provide a quote for central locking without inspecting the vehicle first. In many cases, door cards must be carefully removed to assess clearance, access, and cable routing. Some older vehicles may also have been modified in the past, adding to the complexity.

💷 Pricing – What Affects the Cost?

Installing an alarm system in a classic car is rarely a one-size-fits-all job. Factors that affect pricing include:

• The age and condition of wiring and electrics

• Whether the vehicle has positive or negative earth

• The layout and accessibility of the fuse box, battery, and ignition circuits

• The number of doors and whether central locking is being added

• Whether the interior is already trimmed or needs disassembly

As a result, installation of the Sigma S30 typically ranges from £550 to £1,000 inc VAT, depending on the vehicle. We’ll give you a more accurate estimate once we’ve seen the car in person.
